Al-Balooshi Wins ADRL Championship and World Finals

Khalid Al-Balooshi dominated throughout a career-defining weekend at the ADRL Speedtech Nitrous Battle for the Belts and World Finals at the Texas Motorplex (October 23-24). He claimed the ADRL 2009 Pro Nitrous championship with a victory in the Battle for the Belts over his Al-Anabi teammate Burton Auxier. He beat Stan Allen and Mike Castellana on his way to his final round win over Auxier. As Al-Balooshi commented about the all Al-Anabi final round match up for the championship, “It is good for the Al-Anabi team.” After a great season for the entire team, the win undoubtedly made team owner, His Highness Sheikh Khalid Bin Hamad Al-Thani, proud.

Al-Balooshi went on to back up his performance in an enormous way during the ADRL World Finals on Saturday. The World Finals event results officially count toward the 2010 points race. Al-Balooshi showed Saturday that he is by no means satisfied with one championship belt. He could not have begun the 2010 season in stronger fashion, rocketing his way to victory in the final over Charles Carpenter with a phenomenal 3.815 et at 196.42 miles per hour. With the quickest and fastest Pro Nitrous run in history, Al-Balooshi claimed his first ADRL event victory on the series’ biggest stage. He goes into the off season as the 2009 champion, 2010 points leader, and ET and speed record holder. None can question that the driver from Doha, Qatar will continue to impress and fight to defend his championship in 2010.

On a somber note, the legendary driver and tuner, Shannon Jenkins, was unable to attend the event weekend in Texas because of the passing of his beloved father. The team had him on their minds throughout the weekend. All at Reher-Morrison send their sincere condolences to Shannon and his family.

Brandon Switzer, co-owner of Speedtech Innovative Nitrous Solutions, stepped in to tune the Al-Anabi team cars for the World Finals weekend. He used his excellent knowledge and expertise to do a superb job. Reher-Morrison is fortunate to work with Shannon, Brandon, and all the staff at Speedtech to make these cars excel on the track. Their knowledge has been pivotal in building this program. Brad Morgan at Reher-Morrison deserves tremendous credit for his tireless work to push the Reher-Morrison Pro Mod engine program forward. Without Brad’s work and the efforts of many others, this engine program could not be where it is today. After this weekend, the future looks even brighter for the Al-Anabi team with its Reher-Morrison Racing Engines horsepower.
